Uniwersytet Wroclawski

The university of Wroclaw (UWr) is one of the most significant public research universities in Poland with over 1900 academic staff members and 23,00 students (including 1500 international). Placed among the top research HEIs in Poland, it prides itself on its world-class programmes in the natural and social sciences and humanities. Its research results are published, patented and used in studies and technical descriptions. Recently, UWr has participated in or coordinated in project within the EU and worldwide. Participating in diverse research and mobility is in line with its strategy of internationalisation by increasing opportunities for students and staff and exposing them to global perspectives through an international curriculum and dual degrees. Its policy is to develop international collaboration in research, staff and student echange. In 2019, UWr won the Research Excellence contest organised by the Ministry of Science and HE (IDUB), a groundbreaking milestone in its history.

About 3AC

The University of the Thid Age (U3A) has been a part of UWr since 1997 and is run by Adult Education and Cultural Studies Dep. at the Institute of Pedagogy. U3A's learners have participated in differents sociocultural events organised in the city and beyond. U2A's staff members are active participants in networks such as the EU Society for Research on Education of Adults, Between Global and Local: Adult learning and Development, Migration, Ethnicity, Racism and Xenophobia. For several years, UWr has been organising intergenerational activities and projects with students in pedagogy: 3  Erasmus+ Partnerships, "Silver Code, ,Not Too Late to Speak", "Old Guys Say Yes to Community", "Biology for Practitioners - Programme of Developing Interests and Stimulating Educational and Cultural Activity for U3A students", "University for Seniors - An Innovative Approach in Adult Education". UWr"s experience will serve as a good practice and valuable resource to be shared with partners.

Since UWr has a solid expertise in the education and training of older learners thanks to its University of the Third Age, it will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the writing of the conclusion report about the findings of the pilot course and the recommandations for further implementation;
  • Supervising and monitoring the overall activities related to communication about the 3AC partnership through various channels (prints, social media, web page, etc.);
  • Co-organising and hosting the final multiplier event for the dissemination of 3AC by the end of spring in 2023.
