The consortium

The consortium consists of four HEIs of the four EUROVOC geographical regions (north/east/south/west): ULille (France), UMinho (Portugal), MRU (Lithuania) and UWr (Poland). They mirror the diversity in Europe and cover different cultures as well as languages. This is a strong asset to represent the needs of the older learners throughout the European Union.

[The partners are members of the InclusU Network that applied for funding via the Erasmus+ "European Universities" pilot call and was marked 79 in 2019 and 80 in 2020. Despite failure to obtain this label, for the last three years MRU, UWr, UMinho, and ULille have intensively cooperated on inclusiveness, welfare, vulnerability and holistic care, which are the common threads of the InclusU project. Their shared activities have led to a joint response to the Covid-19-call for proposals of the EU Commission in 2020 under Horizon 2020 on "Covid-19 and Vulnerability - experience of care and aged people - COVERAGE". The RIA proposal was marked 12, but not funded. However, the partners are currently carrying out common research on "Analysing and comparing the impact of the response to the Covid-19 epidemic in Europe on vulnerable people, in particular the elderly" financed by funding from the French PIA programme. The 3AC project is thus a component of InclusU.]

Furthermore, ULille, UMinho and UWr have had double degrees as well as Erasmus Mundus programmes in humanities and social sciences for years. There are strong and divertified existing collaborations at different levels between the four HEIs involved in the 3AC project, which is an asset for this new partnership. The four partners will bring expertise in performing the different tasks and activities.

ULille and MRU are less experienced in the field of the adult education although they have programmes related to lifelong learning and vocational training. Moreover, they have not received any funding from this type of Partnership Action in the field of adult education supported by the Erasmus+ programme more than twice in the last seven years. Therefore, they will benefit from the experience of UMinho and UWr that have been much more involved in this kind of application.

MRU and ULille will bring their solid experience in other Erasmus projects while UMinho and URr will fuel the 3AC project with their extensive experience in Erasmus projects related to adult education. Another valuable asset is that the four HEIs have experiences researchers and teachers as well as skilled practitioners in the field of active and healthy ageing. The four partners will provide complementary strenghts to efficiently implement the 3AC project.
